For all you 5.5" iPhone people, here is a leak that gives some hope of the 5.5". Maybe we will see it after all Check it out here:

2915mah battery? I was thinking for a 5.5 phone it would have around 3500 but I guess that's why I don't work at apple. Lol

I agree. This is just one of Apples incremental upgrades aspects heaven will collapse if Apple ever felt we needed anything bigger than 3000 mah at this time . But alas Apple I need it!!

I wouldn't call a much bigger screen incremental. Would just be nice to have an iPhone that people boasted about amazing battery life and not just "mines real good if I don't use it much" lol

Apple likes going small on battery. Now if only that battery was in the 4.7" iPhone. That would have been awesome.

Something seems fishy. Looking at this pic, and then holding my 5S the same way, there isn't much difference. And I have huge hands. iPhone 6 5.5" Leaked Battery-imageuploadedbyimore-forums1408192172.545745.jpg

Obviously I don't know for fact, but that purported 5.5" leak seems like the 4.7" to me.

^^^^Speaking of fish, this almost looks to be the same "trick" where holding a fish toward the camera with outstretched arms can make the fish appear to be larger than it really is.

This photo looks like its employing similar tactic. The scale and distance between the phone, ground, and plants are off to me. Looks like the person is kneeling or crouching down with the phone close to the ground.

I didn't really notice that. Now that you mention it, thake a look at the other picture, claiming to have the 4.7" and 5.5" next to each other, with the 4.7" on the right and the 5.5" on the left. They are almost the exact same size!

As stated I was referring to the battery size and not the screen size

they ARE the exact same size. I don't see the phablet iPhone happening any time soon. Certainly not in 2014, maybe next year.

It won't really bother me if a phablet isn't released. As long as I get my 4.7", I'm happy

It would make more sense to be 3500 mAh if it's a "phablet" but hey, what do we know? Lol!

I know, it would suck for some people. I'd be curious to see the actual market share of those monster screen (>5.5") phones, because I assume it's pretty niche and our perception in online forums is just badly skewed because we're all a bit special when it comes to phones. I think if Apple go 4" and 4.7" almost 90% of the potential customers will be pleased with their options and that's historically what Apple has always been doing.
Also how do you market the phablet, where do you place it in the product range. I think it would eliminate the one distinct difference that remains between iPhone and iPad (which is size. no longer phone calls with iOS8 introduced). In my opinion both categories are still way too important for Apple to risk blurring those lines.
So that's why I don't believe in the Apple phablet. If it catches on big time in the future yes, they too will do it. But just because Samsung seems to be successful in that small market? Doesn't sound like an Apple move.
I am interested, why would you personally want the 5.5 option? Do you have an iPad? Would you get rid of it?

I personally don't want the 5.5", but I do hope for all those who do want it that it will come out. I wouldn't get rid of my iPad though even if I got the 5.5". I like my iPad too much to sell it
