    Does the iPhone 5S have 2 speakers & 2 grills or 1 speaker & 2 grills?

Not important to me. Even if the two speakers were on opposite sides of the phone, I don't think there would be sufficient space between them to really have stereo sounds. The iPad Air has two speakers and so is officially stereo but since they are both on one end it doesn't make a difference.

Having two speakers on a the iPhone would be nice, but if not, it wouldn't be a deal breaker for my future purchase of any iPhone. I rarely use the speaker anyway.

I never use my phone to play music. It's always headphones, Bluetooth in my car and that's it. Not saying I wouldn't welcome the improvements

It's important to me. The iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and 15" MacBook Pro Retina have dual speakers (that is, two speaker grilles). The iPhone 5c, 5th gen iPod Touch, and mockups of the iPhone 6 don't (they have one single speaker on the bottom right side of the device).

Sent from my Space Grey iPhone 5s 64 GB or Space Grey iPad Air 128 GB WiFi + Cellular. Both devices using VZW 4G LTE and running iOS 7.1 .
Well the one on the 5s isn't even a speaker so not sure how not having 2 speakers is such a big deal. I do not listen to music that often through my iPhone, it is usually with headphones in or if i do listen to music the one speaker is plenty.

Even after reading every one of these replies, my opinion still stands firm. I believe the single speaker on iPhones now is perfectly fine.

Agreed. In the end it's still a tiny phone speaker. I had the HTC One and the speakers were nice, but they were still tiny-sounding phone speakers.

If it's the One M7 you're talking about, that is indeed pretty tiny-sounding. I still have that at home. But the newer One M8 and the Desire 816 has a much better sounding speakers. Both in terms of clarity, volume, and bass.

But yeah, try to play any phone speakers in a noisy environment and even the "boom sound" speakers doesn't sound so boomy. It's great for indoors though, or a quick video while taking a dump (come on, we've all done it ). Lol.

But in the end, it's a nice to have, not a must have.

Yeah. You're not going to get bass from a phone speaker. As Scotty liked to say, "Ye canna change the laws of physics."

The speakers on the M8 are nice, but like Andrew Lima said, one is fine for a phone IMO.

Same here. Usually the only other thing I do is watch YouTube videos, and I definitely don't need stereo for that

Yes. It's very important- especially with their purchase of Beats by Dre. Apple needs to stay competitive and moving on to dual speakers is a part of the process.
