Just for sh*ts and giggles, if the rumors are true and they bring a 4.7" and 5.7" iPhone to the market this year, which will be your preferred size?

Me personally, I'd go with the 4.7" simply because I don't have an option to go smaller than that. I'd probably grow accustomed to the size, but the 5.7" is ridiculous...there's no way I would enjoy having that phone as my daily driver.

    What say you?

I still think Apple should just add full blown phone innards in the iPad lineup so size won't matter anymore....

If the options are 4.7" and 5.7" I would say 4.7". I would prefer something smaller, maybe 4.2" or 4.5".

I just can't get use to a big phone didn't want one when that's all there was available

If those were the only two options, I'd go with the 4.7". The 4.3" Android device I had was large enough so there is no way I'd buy the 5.7".

4.7" is still too big in my opinion. I would be happy with 4.5" but like you said Sean if they only offer 4.7" and 5.7" definitely getting the former. I can't stand phones that are bigger than 5" just stupidly big.

I would have to go with the 4.7 especially if its edge to edge as not to make the iphone to large

I would be very happy with a 4.7" iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 5 at 4", an HTC One at 4.7" and a Galaxy Note 3 at 5.7" and the HTC is, for me at least, the perfect size in my opinion.

I think it all depends on if they have the same specs, just different screen sizes (like iPad air and mini) or if they put lesser specs in the 4.7" device. I would ideally like the 4.7, but if it is gimped with lesser specs Ill be forced to go with the 5.7"

Not an iPhone user yet but my choice would be the 4.7. I think those folks running around with a 6" phone to the side of there head look totally ridiculous. Now if apple builds the 4.7 with lesser hardware specs then I'll just stick to my android phones.

I would hate the larger ones. I know some people like them but IMO they look ridiculous- way too large.

I love the form factor of my HTC One, but prefer the iOS/Apple ecosystem. So...4.7" would be fantastic. I've used a Note III and it's just too big (NOT what she said...)

I would take a 4.7", not at all interested in the 5.7". There is more to consider than screen size though, the design does play in to the overall experience so saying that 4.7" is too big without actually seeing and handling the finished product is impossible for me. I love the overall size and the design of the the Moto X, I think it is just about perfect. They managed to put a 4.7" screen in a small package. The HTC One is nice, but noticeably larger than the Moto X with the same size screen. I think they should continue with the 5S at 4", and also make both 4.7" and a 5.7".

To me 4.3 would be better. But if it is compulsory that I choose from the above choices, 4.7 it is then...

The article mentions a "one time exception". Assuming any grain of truth there, does that mean offering larger sizes will be an experiment, or that expected demand for larger sizes will be comparatively low in contrast to the current form factors?

I kind of thought it implied a "beta test" so to speak, which was a bit odd to me, but I think there's obviously going to be a size increase, and I think what this primarily referenced was the larger end of the two...as the 4.7" device seems more in line with a natural progression or evolution, where as the 5.7" seems like a bizarre and questionable choice.

I thought Steve Jobs said that 3.5 is big enough. Apparently, he was wrong since there is 4 inch iPhone and a bigger one may be coming soon. The S3 had a 4.8 inch screen so I would be able to get used to a 4.7 inch iPhone very easily considering that it was my primary device once.

I guess everyone wants the smaller version considering the fact that no one voted for the 5.7 inch screen.

I for one hope the rumours remain just rumours. However if they have to orientate by the competition hopefully there will be one that's the current size and another one just slightly bigger, 4.7" should be the max. Needless to say I would stick with the former.

I hope the rumors are true but at the same time I would like them to keep the smaller size for the folks that like the smaller size.

He also said nobody wanted a smaller screened tablet and we all know if that's the case they wouldn't have the iPad mini

Recently switched to iPhone 5s from a BlackBerry Z30. The 5 inch Z30 was a great size. Wasn't to big. 5.7 would be way to big though I think. The other thing to thing about is size of phone versus size of screen.
