    In the gmail app it is just archive.

    In the native mail app it's a bit deeper:

    Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars

    Choose your gmail account, then do the following:

    Gotcha. Definitely wish there was an option (and I think there was at one time) but right now you have to check the boxes and delete that way.
