Why will my iPhone 6plus not work with text in car

My car reads out texts Jeep Wrangler 2015, but it says my phone is not supported (iPhone 6 plus) is anyone know anything bout this?

UConnect is not a great in car media system...it is hit or miss with several devices (not just iPhone). My buddies UConnect system will work about 50% of the time for any given function. It's so inconsistent he rarely ever uses it and just resorts to a simple bluetooth connection for music streaming.

I have UConnect in my wrangler and can say it works great with my wife's Android and Windows Phone, but does not work at all (text) with my iPhone. It's a real bummer.

Asked my friend if he knew of a work around and he sent me this...



...this also works for the Galaxy S model phones (that is what he has) and the Note (you just have to follow Android setting screen prompts obviously).
