Thinking about going from Note 4 to iPhone 6 Plus

I have a black Note 4 that I love. It has been my favorite phone ever. Last iPhone I had was a 4s, but honestly it was a little, dare I say, boring. Now, before you call me an Android fanboy, let me tell you I am brand neutral; (2)iPads (3 and Air2), note 4 phone, Windows laptop. I use my iPads ALL the time. And due to needing a new desktop and my need for 4k editing, I'm thinking about moving to an iMac 5k. Just thinking, maybe I should go ahead and make the jump so everything syncs up and works together? Anyone else with ideas about matching vs fragmented system use?

Do what you think is in your best interest. I recommend you go to a nearby Best Buy store or a wireless provider's store and fiddle with the iPhone 6 Plus to see if it's for you or not.

Thanks for the advice ;) I really wish I could justify both, but I just can't. Any glaring issues I should know about? I'm guessing not, just the regular gripes here and there you hear about all phones if you nitpick enough?

If you're techie then I doubt you'll have any problems adjusting to the iPhone 6 Plus as far as the user interface is concerned. Of course, there will be things and ways that you're currently accustomed to doing with your Note 4 that may tick you off initially with the 6 Plus, but like anything else, after a while, you'll adjust and make it work for you...;)

The battery life in the 6 Plus is worth the switch in my opinion.
Having a Mac, iPad and iPhone is a killer experience the flow of information across devices is the best. Someone text you some important info and you deleted the text on the iPhone it will be on the iPad and Mac. You can make calls from the Mac via the iPhone cellular connection and many other things.

^This is exactly what is making me contemplate the move. All these flagship devices are great nowadays, but with my growing Apple family, it just feels like I need the experience of everything playing nice together. Less tech to keep up with as well!

I don't have a Mac or iPad but if you delete a text on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, wouldn't the text delete on all platforms from each messaging app?

Nope. Not on the Apple messages app. It's the perfect backup. Many of my business contacts send important information via text nowadays and just being able to refer back to it if needed on the Mac or iPad after deleting on iPhone is a great feature.

I remember when I had a Mac that it didn't delete from Mac or iPhone when you'd delete a text. But I thought that they made it more integrated. Last time I used iMessage on a Mac was back in 2011-2012.

Messages on a Mac now includes regular texts or the green texts not just iMessages.

This I know. Thanks! Just didn't know the extent of the syncing. It's cool that it doesn't delete messages that are deleted on one device though.

If you have an iPhone, you could consider buying the watch down the road. This is a product line that has a lot potential in changing our lives in the future.

I'm getting closer and closer to making the move. Just need to figure out the best way to turn my Note 4 into a 6 Plus without taking too much of a hit.

I went from a note 3 to the 6 plus. Enjoying the change. I've always used an extended battery with my devices. If the 6 plus doesn't deliver on the battery I'll get the Note 4. Unfortunately the swiping keyboards are pretty inaccurate on iOS.

Let me know if you decide to. I've got a perfect black Note 4 32Gb with a 64Gb card I'd be willing to work a trade. I LOVE It, but since I'm about to go iMac it's getting close to time to trade/sell.

Am I the only one who hate andriod? lol

Lol, to each his/her own! I love my android (note 4)......but I also love my iPad Air 2. Think I'll be happy either way, but the iPhone is starting to make sense for my needs.

Android screwed the pooch on the tablets. The big format screens are just too misshapen to hold. Too long east/west or if you flip too high in portrait mode. I also have an iPad Air after I tried/returned the big format Nexus. I think it is called the 10. Still like the Android phones though. Especially those that come with a replaceable battery that you can turn into an extended battery (just the Notes?). Wireless charging is the thing of the future. Let's hope the iPhones get 'em soon.
