I've had verizon for 13 or so years and never had a signal issue. What I've noticed with the 6 plus is that people say I go in and out at times. When I check the signal strength I typically have 3 bars. The only thing I can think of is now I'm on LTE.

Does LTE have less voice quality reliability than 3G? That's the only guess I can come up with. I'm really surprised though that the reliability went down. I believe most of the issues happen when I am inside a cinder block structure inside one of the work buildings.

If in your phone's settings there's an option to set LTE to data only.... Try that.

From what I understand, LTE has less penetrating power for structures vs. 3G/4G...so that certainly COULD be the issue you're facing, especially with VoLTE being introduced so widely now.

Actually, if the LTE is in the 700mhz band... That carries better into structures than the other radio bands Verizon uses...

Yeah, make sure your cellular LTE is data only. When on data only, it's clear. When on data & voice, my phone breaks up every phone call. Incredibly annoying.

I've been hearing that Verizon has been having issues with data/voice over lte since they introduced the simultaneous voice/data. Verizon intro-ing voice/data is not a typical CDMA setup.

If I switch to data only then the HD calling would go away, correct?

Yes. The HD calling feature will be turned off if you switch it to DATA ONLY.
