Is it normal for the home button on the 6+ to not have response when pressed on the edges? From my experience from the past it seems like my ipod touch does this as well as the sample phones I tried at the apple store, I even tried 3 different 6+ from three different friends, suprisingly it does this as well. So I guess the home buttons are made so that you have to precisely press it in the middle for it to respond well?

Nope. I can unlock my iPhone 6 Plus by only covering half the home button.

Not really. I can unlock it with the edge of my finger. Try adding the same fingerprint twice, may improve recognition.

when I mean pressing on the edges, I literally mean pressing between the border of the gold ring, with less then half of your finger making contact with the button.

tried it again, it does respond most of the time if I place half my finger on the button, just not as precise if you place it directly in the middle.

I understand, but why would anyone want to do that when it's just easier to place your thumb or finger over the entire home button?

I would assume that to be a given.

If it were more sensitive, there'd be too many complaints of it being that way...

This is honestly pointless, this side of the home button is slightly recessed by the glass face on all sides so if press from the sides your basically applying more pressure on the glass than then button

What's not normal is people pressing the home button on the edge like you are describing...regardless of what it does.

It's like asking if it's normal for gas to spew all over you if you put the gas nozzle in sideways...
