I just updated my new 6+ to iOS 8.1. I got a message that said I needed to get a new SIM card. It said I needed to visit an ATT store to get a new one to give me access to all services. Don't understand.

I got my new SIM. They had no idea why though lol. I think it has to do with ApplePay security

Good to know as I have Verizon as well. I hate to have to get a new SIM card and go through the set up again.

Not sure even what the reason is for this ! I got my new SIM cards from the AT&T store where they had no idea, called up to register them and they didn't know either lol. Now on one of the phones we are still getting these annoying texts even after putting in a brand new SIM. Annoying!!

I was able to trade my wife's gold 64gb iphone 6 over the weekend with a 64gb space grey 6 plus. The guy emailed me last night asking if anything was wrong with the phone because all of sudden he was getting a message to contact AT&T after using iTunes. Now I see this today and it all makes sense.

+1. That's what my att rep told me over the phone about apple pay. Honestly haven't seen any differences after installing the new sim.

Some (or maybe most) AT&T stores haven't received the new SIM cards yet. When we got my husband's 6+, the Apple rep just took his 5's SIM and put it into the 6+ and then later he received the message about getting a new SIM.

My 6+ has a new SIM from Apple (my SIM got deactivated when we picked up and activated his phone because we originally used my line's upgrade to utilize personal pickup so Apple gave me another SIM but just put his old 5's SIM in his 6+) so I didn't get any message and have set up Apple pay without issues. (But I haven't actually used Apple Pay yet so we'll see how it goes, lol!)

We went into our local AT&T store last week to get a new SIM for him but they said they still don't have the new ones yet.
