The iPhone 6 Plus is a JOKE. And here I tell you why.
- Obviously the OP is disenchanted with the Plus. After waiting in line and so on.
Folks deal with their decisions and rectify them as in getting a new or different device.
We can go on and on about this amount of ram vs that amount of ram. If one wants more ram get another device that has more ram it's that simple or wait until Apple puts more ram in a device. Just like the bigger screen.
Folks say to themselves "You know what I'm not feeling the Plus I'm going to go with a whatever " a Android phone if they choose.
The only one that can fix the OP's situation is the OP not Apple. Apple makes what they make with the ram that they use at this time.
Apple believes they make great devices with the ram they use so do I. If more ram is inhibiting a user from doing what they do the solution is clear. Get another phone. Because right now all you're going to get is 1gig from a iPhone.10-13-2014 10:37 AMLike 2 - Let me add to this entire thread of crazy talk. My note with 3GB of ram would have to be restarted to clear up a lag issues it had. I don't have that problem with the 6+. I also had the 6 and it performed just as well. I also have not seen anyone point out that 8.0.2 is not bug free and performance updates will come our way. Think about this.... We haven't used a iPhone 6 with iOS 7 but I did use a 4s with 6 7 and now iOS 8 and I know for a fact iOS 8 has performance issues. It's not THAT much different from 7 and there isn't any graphical enhancements to account for increased gpu load. We will probably see 2GB ram with the 6s but it's only gonna be there bc Apple will feel it's needed by then. There custom SoC's are some of the best I've ever seen. Ram chips are cheap and integration with it onto a processor that already has smaller lithography would have made since if there was a performance gain higher then the consequences of not having it. Besides we really don't know much about the chip to my understanding. And it could have more then what's stated on the ram side of things. Another aspect here is that if the storage space is fast enough then caching it there would make since.ScottsoNJ likes this.10-13-2014 11:18 AMLike 1

- I was so curious and i did your little experiment on my IP+.
It didn't refresh a thing on safari. All my apps were opend and I sent some text messages, went to fb, instagram, played some music. I left the message I typed on one of the forums but when i got back to safari, the page didn't refresh so i didn't lose the msg.
It's weird huh!! Even tho I think my phone lags sometimes, i know it's the software and it will get smoother with upcoming updates so im not worried about it.10-13-2014 12:46 PMLike 0 -
- first of all I will say I agree with few points you made (OP), I have been using Iphone since the iPhone 2, then 3gs, then 4 & 4s... after which I decided to switch to android (HTC one) since I got fed up of the same design (almost), the same specs & the restrictions apple puts on the users (transferring music etc etc)
but now I am looking forward to dump android & get back to apple, due to many reasons, 1. no one beats apples customer service... its mind blowing (android really is lost here) 2. whatever the best & highest specs mobile (android) you choose it will still lag & not perform as smoothly as an apple... so given a choice of lags I prefer the apple lag... the Apple software wins hands down, the eco system is much better, samsung dumps dozens of models & does mass advertising with so called higher specs & see whats happening to them, finally they are slowing down & people realizing that cheap quality & hog wash mass advertisements dont make a good phone...
last but not the least think things from a business point of view... gone are the days where your products should last for years.. if this were to happen why would I be inclined to buy a iphone 8/9 with ios 10/11 ?? they are running a business here & are answerable to their stock holders... they need to make sales every quarter...
but I do wish they would start leading the market again rather than following...
edit: If any company today gives you future proof products their sales will have no future in the future...Last edited by Czar VT; 10-13-2014 at 04:52 PM.

and the customer service is the best I've ever seen lol10-13-2014 04:29 PMLike 0 - You claim to be an aerospace and electrical engineer but you can't seem write complete sentences with even a modicum of proper grammar. And you provide no electrical or aerospace engineering proof on what research you've done that proves your point. The whole thing is pretty comical.10-13-2014 04:37 PMLike 0
- This entire thread would have been pretty good if this all focused solely on the plusses and minuses of the phone itself10-13-2014 06:06 PMLike 0
- Read the op post and then read a couple responses. Lol. Funny as heck to how offended people get!

I've had the Samsung Note 3 since June. It started out as a good phone, but it has morphed into a piece of junk. It's laggy, the battery life has gone down the toilet, and the apps suck. Android can't do email to save it's life.
Looking forward to getting my "JOKE" iPhone 6 Plus.tekjunkie28 and the_tech_eater like this.10-13-2014 10:57 PMLike 2 -
- The more ram the more battery drain.
I think Apple will add more ram when they believe the have it right as far as battery life.
I always here about the Note 3 and its 3 gig of ram. Does it perform any better than a 6 Plus? I've read numerous places on the terrible batt life of the Note 3.
With all these Android phones with more ram than a iPhone how come none of them beat the pants of a iPhone performance wise? And most of these Android phones all I hear about is poor batter life.
I'm sure Apple could slap 2 gig of ram in a iPhone but at what cost battery wise. They will do it when they feel they get right. Who knows that could be with the new iPads.10-14-2014 07:39 AMLike 0 - I honestly don't care about specs. Specs look good on paper, but in the end real performance is what actually counts. Just like in that video the iPhone 6 demolished the Galaxy S5 in the speed test. And it did so with outdated specs. The GS5 is a great device and its specs look more impressive than the 6 but again, it's just all on paper. I just want a device that works and is reliable and that's the primary reason I switched from Android to iPhone. So go ahead and brag all you want about specs, none of it matters in real life.
Specs =/= real life performance.10-14-2014 11:08 AMLike 4 - tl;dr
**Rant Begins**
I did read some of the OP and none of the comments, so forgive me if this has been said a million times already...
Samsung! Note 3, Note 2, Note 1, Alpha, S4, S5.
What do they have in common? They all have their short falls. The OP complains about the iOS and Android catching up. Well, I'll give him that, Android has caught up. But why do people keep going to Apple, and why do they buy Apple products which can be said to be more expensive than other phones.
I have owned many android devices, including the Nexus devices, so yeh... Anyway, where can I go to get support or my phone looked at without waiting a week? No where... Even the insurance from the carrier is BS, I have had it with ATT, Tmobile etc etc and now Rogers, which is by far the worst. I have an iPhone, something is wrong, they run their diagnoses and if they find something they replace it. BTW at this point I do have AppleCare+ but I haven used it yet and yet I have had my phone replaced (iPhone 5S). Any android phone you won't get the same support or customer service. HE rants about specs... That in itself is a joke. Just because he is an engineer doesn't mean he knows how a phone works far less for software. iOS is by far the closest thing to the most stable software around, when using an Android device, there are many bugs, many flaws and no eco system. Apple it does, might not be perfect, but hey, it works for the most part. DO you know how expensive it would be to have software that is absolutely perfect? If you don't, ask NASA, their systems need to be perfect. Rant, rant, rant and all you are is another spec freak, not everything need a million cores to run close to flawless. Sometimes efficiency means something. Which android is not. DO they both have their pro's and cons, yes! I just don't see why people have to write a post and make it seem like no other company does the same thing. They're all out to make money and put products on the market... Get off your high horse OP.
**Rant Ends**
lmao10-15-2014 04:08 AMLike 0 - I respectfully disagree with some of your points in your rant. I do think that Apple had done a good job optimizing the software with the hardware in their devices. But iOS is buggy. Very buggy actually, even after a couple of updates. And I think that Apple is finding that as they begin to add more and more features that you have found on Android for some years now that it it is having an effect on performance. I don't mind it because I have come to the conclusion that mobile software will be buggy. That's why we get so many updates. And I'm fine with this. I'm not sure what you meant by no ecosystem on Android. The Google ecosystem is massive and a lot of iOS users use Google services. As far as specs are concerned, I see the reason for interest if there is a benefit. I wouldn't buy a smartphone with a 2 MP camera, or a 1300 mah battery, or a 3.5 inch screen today. It just depends on how the smartphone is packaged and how it performs. Sometimes increased specs make a difference.

Specs =/= real life performance.
Yes, real life performance is what matters but generally better specs equals better real life performance. Especially with iOS devices. Apple, once or twice a year, spends a couple of hours at each event telling you how much better their newest gadgets are. It's because of updated specs and software optimization and its integration with hardware. Not because of the "i don't care about specs" fairy.10-15-2014 07:07 AMLike 0
