I just phoned Apple and added AppleCare plus to my phone just for the ability to use it caseless or to have the option of having no screen protector and not have to worry should it get scratched or damaged I can just go get a new one
Hey man how does that work ? Like can I get that right now after the fact. ? And if there's a scratch you can replace ?

I believe you have to add AppleCare+ within the 60 days of the purchase of the device. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. However, I'm not sure what the criteria is to get a replacement.

Here is some of the basic information: AppleCare+ for iPhone - Apple Store (U.S.)

Ive heard that you have 30 days to purchase AppleCare+ to take advantage of the $79 (formerly $49 though) 2 time hardware replacement. Though on the website, it also says you have one year from purchase with limited benefits. I'm thinking this means that you cannot replace it due to damage but still get phone support? A little confusing, yes

Unless they've changed it, you can get Applecare+ up to thirty days after purchase. They may require you to bring to device in for an inspection or alternately may require you download a diagnostic app before issuing it.
However AppleCare+ damage claims (2 in 2 years with a $79 deductible) do not cover minor cosmetic damage. Drop your phone in water or smash the glass, covered. A small nick or scratch that doesn't affect the use of the device, not covered. The employees at the Genius Bar have a pretty wide latitude though to determine what is covered or not.

Do you get any scratches? I've always used screen protectors but would like to go "naked". I'm just worried about scratching the screen.

Nope. I’ve never used one (save about 5-6 days with my iPhone 4), and no scratches on any of my devices. Ever. Just treat it well and you’re good to go.

It's hard to base someone else's screen to yours everyone does different stuff. If you are not easy on your device slap one on... If you are careful but can handle a a few scratches should they happen then don't worry about it

Do you have apple care + or something similar? If you don't, are you willing to pay a few hundred dollars to fix your screen? No? Get a protector. If you have apple care + or something like it or don't mind shelling out some money to fix a broken screen then go with out. Simple.

While I personally hate the idea of a screen protector, I must admit that it protected my 5S from a substantial amount of scratches... Every few months I look at the screen protector and it's all scratched up, so I just replace it... It's love/hate relationship since one doesn't wish to disturb the beautiful Retina Screen, but again... if you put your phone in your pocket, you might as well protect it.

I for one am considering a flip-case, if I could find a good one. Then maybe I won't need a screen protector. However, for the 6 Plus, I am seriously considering the Zagg Glass.

Here is a very nice, handmade leather, flip case. I really want it but man is it expensive.
