Every issue they are describing are things that can happen to ANY camera...white balance inconsistencies happen with my wife's very expensive DSLR's all the time, and you can see them over the series of dozens of shots. People are noticing it more on the iPhone because the iPhone makes it's adjustments automatically (as you can see in the video where the color balances change rapidly as he moves his hand)...this is a function of the different features in the camera, which you would normally either have to make manually on actual cameras or they wouldn't be as noticeable as it would be done far more slowly (as the iPhone's point and shoot ability has surpassed almost ALL commonly purchase point and shoot cameras).
The purple fringing, as it always was, is an issue of out of frame light sources...they certainly adjusted this in iOS 7 with the iPhone 5 and 5S, but I could only EVER get that result on pictures if I actually tried to with an extreme case of of frame lighting directly in the path of the object I was taking a picture of. I have yet to see it at all with any pictures I've taken with my 6 Plus, and there have been several situations where it would have been evident...
