Exactly, unless you have Apple Care Plus, your going to have to buy another device out of your own pocket.

Apple Care Plus would only charge you a $79.00 replacement fee for a 5 series device.

you could try putting it in a bag of rice for a couple of days. The rice will suck up most of the moisture

Usually that's good advice but man - a washing machine. That phone was submerged - I think its dead.
