    My guess is that it's shorting and causing it to overheat, melting the plastic. I would stop using it immediately if I were you.

    Check for its genuity.
    Sometimes fake charger adapter leads to these kind of issues.

    To check the genuine features of charger , look at the safety mark provided by the company
    And the clearance between adapter and cable (almost zero) is to be checked when inserted .
