predictive text

my predictive texting words that appear above the keyboard is gone. i've looked under settings. Messages but can't find it. any ideas

You went to Settings > General > Keyboard?

There is a predictive option located there. Is that enabled?

It could also be hidden. The white dash above the "t" and "y" keys can be slid up to reveal the predictive area

If you have any 3rd party keyboards enabled, you can long press on the globe and toggle predictive on there.
