So we followed this an replaced the screen but now its glitchy.

Followed this and replaced my white Iphone5s touch screen, now its glitchy and often wont register touch. This is especially true with the bottom left corner of the screen but at times the entire screen. Help! Is my phone a lost cause? I have updated and am on the current IOS and I have done a soft and hard wipe.

Either retrace your steps or make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them repair it for you.

its entirely possible you got a defective replacement part. Was it done by your self? local shop? apple store?
if it was done at a shop take it back and ask them to warranty their work with a different screen.
If you did it that opens up the possibility of defective screen or possible user damage while it was open.
