Phone protection

Hey I was wondering!
I would LOVE to get only a basic silicone case for my device. (Like this:

)
It is always in my purse, so it never falls down. Except at home.. I am clumsy and drop it from time to time on hard wood floor (like when sitting on the couch and I have it on my thigh or something).
Would it offer enough protection or I should stick with my -bulky- Otterbox Commuter? (No  care, so I do not want to shatter the screen).

Any lightweight case would provide scratch protection and possibly be a buffer to certain dents depending how it falls.
A glass screen protector can help in preventing the screen from shattering.

The more protection a case provides will decrease the chances of serious damage.

Having this silicon case and a tampered screen protector would be a better protection on phone. I always drop my phone thats why i need this things on my phone.

I use a Spigen Tough Armor case, pretty sturdy, and I also use a tempered glass screen protector. Never had any complaints. Just dropped my phone once, no visible damage.

I don't think just a simple silicone case can give your iPhone sufficient protection, you'd better get a screen protector.

I finally got a Zagg Tempered Glass and I love it
It looks like there is no protector on it, the screen is smoother and more responsive!
