Screen goes black to quick??

If I happen to get distracted while using my iphone 5s, it goes black within a minute?? I can't find a setting that allows me to extend the time the screen stays on? I realize that it is trying to save my battery, but it is annoying to have to restart the phone so often! Is there a setting to keep the screen lit longer??
