I'm on Verizon with a Windows Nokia Lumia 928 under contract. Phone is fine; ecosystem isn't. I might be able to do better in a total Microsoft ecosystem on an iPhone. Hence this post.

In a couple of months I think I might be able to get another phone (iPhone 5s 32 GB), being at or under the one year mark of the two year contract.

I've been looking at Craigslist and eBay, and there aren't too many phones for under $300. Even broken iPhones are going for $300. Blows my mind.

Am I thinking straight?

Have you checked how much you can get for your phone? How much longer are you under contract? As it gets closer to the fall you will see some more price drop on the 5s.

If I don't put my account info into Verizon's website, I can get $100 for my 928. One year, two months left on contract. The question at the end is really for my choice of 5s instead of 6. Everyone I've talked to says "get a 6; it's bigger", therefore better. I'd like a loaner 5s (yeah, really (chuckle)) to see if a 5s IS the right choice.

Your Verizon contract allows you to upgrade your phone at a discounted price after only a year? What contract are you on? I thought Verizon discontinued that process. Are you on an Edge program?

I bought my 5S on Swappa for 290, about a month ago. No scratches, perfect screen. 16gb model, black.

I wish iPhone 5s would be aavailable in great condition at $250, that would make it a no brainer.
