Can I use continuity to make phone calls from my deactivated 5s?

Did you change carriers or port your number? That can happen with ported numbers... You really need to put the 5S in airplane mode, then turn on wifi if you want to use it as an iPod...

Well, actually, what I did was upgrade to a 6+ from a 5s. I still have the same phone number through AT&T, so I have a SIM card in the 5s that is no longer activated. I use the 6+ for everything, but noticed that with Continuity I can receive and make phone calls from my wireless only iPad. So I tried it on my 5s, and while it does receive phone calls (if I am on the same wifi as my 6+), it doesn't seem to be able to make phone calls (initiate the call). So, I am wondering if that is possible?

The 5S in Airplane mode with wifi turned on should work like the wifi only iPad... not sure about continuity... maybe...
