Trying to understand. Your having a charger connection issue?

Are you using an official Apple charger cable and is your charging port free of lint

The cable doesn't have the Apple chip in it that's the reason for the above message

Probably buy a new cable. This happens when your data cable has that Apple chip fried or something like that.

Yeah. That part of the cable which ensures that its recognized by your iPhone as an Apple certified cable.

Blackberry also has used branded USB. Not all USB cables will work with Blackberry products. You just got lucky. Try plugging a USB cable from a Nook into a Playbook then, try synching.
