My daughter has a iPhone 5, and I am going to give her my 5s. Is it as simple as me restting it to factory, inserting her SIM card from the 5, and setting it up?

    Thanks!

Yes. Fully compatible - nano SIM to nano SIM.

Depends on the carrier. the apple store guy that helped me switch from 5C to 5S had to login into telus and make the switch for me for it to work. Sounded weird but it makes sense afterwards after I logged into my account and the phone image of the 5C was gone and it said 5S.

On Rogers (Canada) and T-Mobile (USA) it was as easy as me putting in the SIM card to switch devices.

Other carriers may have an extra step.

This is unnecessary. They will tell you that they need to do it, but their system will do it automatically when they detect the SIM number and the IMEI. You can also log into the AT&T portal and change the device image if that’s important to you. (I don't care/bother.)

That's all! Make sure you backup her 5 and restore it on the 5s.
