How do I get rid of the unread badge for my email?

Today when I got my emails on my iphone 5S I must have been half asleep and somehow I told the iphone to mark them as unread. Now I don't have any emails in my email box but the little red balloon next to the mail icon tells me I have 4609 emails. How to I get rid of that. Thanks

Update: After re-reading your post, I recommend that you select "Edit" in the upper right corner of native Mail app's inbox, and then select "Mark All" and after that, select "Mark as Read".
