I've been using a portable charger for my iPhone to get me through the day, because as you know the iPhone leaves some things to be desired in the battery department. The Charger has been working just fine, until today. The only change I can think of is I was asked to update to iOS 7.1.2 today, so I did, and after that whenever I plug into my portable charger is says the accessory may not be supported. Is there a way to fix this?

Try using an official Apple lightning cable to plug into the portable charging pack, if you aren't using one already.

I've been using an official cable, I even opened a brand new one.
Then it shouldn't be saying that. It should only say that when you aren't using an official Apple cable...

Is it possible that it could say this because the charger needs to be charged?

The only time I've seen that is when I was using a defective third party charger. Are you sure you tried using another Apple cable?

Yes, i'm very sure. I started using the cable that came in the box with my iPhone, then I opened the cable that came in the box with my iPad Mini and I'm still having this problem.

Not quite the same, but similar problem. I have an apple brand 30 to lightening adapter which I use on a docking station. Worked great until I also did the most recent OS apple update. Immediately after, got the same "not supported" message. Any ideas?

I get this message whenever I use one of my USB cables to charge my Moohie Case.
Luckily, I just dismiss the message & then it starts charging.
    Good Luck
