So when i got my iPhone 5s, I took it out of the box, slapped a screen protector and used it until the battery died, fully charged it, and then went about with normal use. About once or twice a week, I end up getting it down to single digit percentage, so I say "eh, what the hell", drain it until it shuts its self off, and recharge it. Am I killing my battery? Am I doing the right thing?

Today's batteries are much better than they used to be... Don't need to worry about 'memory' in a battery... I do the drain until it dies thing about once a month... Otherwise, it goes on the charger at bedtime, comes off in the morning... and will only get charged during the day as needed.

That's pretty much how I use it too, off in the AM, charge overnight, just didn't know if draining it down all the way was killing it

What you are doing is just fine and wished more people would. As stated by kch today's batteries are much better than they use to be with no memory buildup. Why not read this to give you some reading on the battery. Keep doing what you are doing.
