Wifi battery life

Does being connected onto wifi help improve battery life or is it better to stay on LTE/3G? I have heard lots of mixed responses so just wondering!

I think it depends on how strong the signal is. (But LTE is still more battery saving then 3G, dunno why)
But in my opinion my iPhone lasts longer connected to wifi.

I'd say neither. As long as you have a strong signal, you should have good battery life. A weak signal will almost certainly cause a strain on one's battery.
