New songs not in recently added?

I downloaded some music not through iTunes but using some other software and the songs were in my music app under songs but not in the recently added playlists. It's never happened before. Anyone maybe know why?

That's weird, but I've noticed that my 'Purchased' playlist wasn't correct either lately. Maybe it's a new way that iTunes is handling imported media that caused it to skip that playlist.

Edit: Check your settings for your 'Recently Added' playlist by right clicking on it and selecting "Edit Smart Playlist Settings" and it should look like this:

I checked it and the settings are the same as what your picture shows. Wonder why it wouldn't be in recently added but it's on my phone. So weird
