I know when the 5 was released we had loose batteries, light leaks under the power button, loose power buttons, loud vibrations. Do any of these problems remain in the 5S?

No build quality concerns here. Mine is flawless so far, except for an occasional operator error.

There will always be build quality issues as it is impossible to manufacture and ship devices on such a large scale that are always flawless. A better way to gauge build quality is to wait about 1 to 3 weeks and see what issues are popping up and how many devices have those issues.

So far no build quality issues with my 5S. Feels super solid. Hopefully the new home button design holds up.

True, but last year you had people complaining about opening up brand new phones and seeing chips or scratches especially on the slate black ones. I haven't heard any of of those sorts of things yet this year.

The only problem I have been having is the power button rattling seems to rattle a bit more than my 5 did

Same here. No QC problems or build quality problems are apparent. No scratches, no flaws... loving me some Apple iPhone quality.

I'm having the same thing happen. Rattles quite loud on vibrate, but put a case on it and that fixed that. Other than that, loving the 5S.

Also I'm new here, hey y'all

Welcome @Yodes ... Mine is flawless, keep in mind that most of the exterior design is near identical to the 5 .. So I would think the issues they were able to fix with the last model were included on the S model.
