So what kind of battery life is everyone getting?

I'm happy with mine. I've been on wifi most of the day except when grocery shopping. I'm a little bummed that I need to recharge and it is only 5:40pm but that's just because I've been using it all day. I do have everything like Bluetooth and the locations services and background updating turned on.

I purposefully ran my battery all the way to zero so that I could get a full charge.

I always charge my phones fully out of the box and run them till they turn off three times. I know this isn't necessary but I've never had a battery issue with my iPhones so I'll continue to do it.

I just used it yesterday with the battery level it was when I opened the box and charged it fully overnight. Then used it until it does today. I've never had battery issues with my iPhones either.

Those are estimated times. There are a lot of factors that come into play on a daily basis with your iPhone that Apple can't possibly predict. Considering that your 5S is still brand new I wouldn't complain about that type of usage.

Yup. That's the same reason I bought a 5s. Saw the leaked pics of the Nexus 5 battery and the fact that it was only 2300mAh (A minor bump up from the Nexus 4's 2100mAh battery) drove me nuts. And it's a 5 inch phone! I know that no one knows how the final specs are going to be but let's be honest, most leaked phone pics that show the battery size usually end up being in the final product.

Same here I'm getting the 5s soon I've had ever flagship android out this year and they all have jank and sometimes even completely froze with basic multi tasking especially on the s4 and g2

I went from 6am to around 10:30pm yesterday with no charge. I made it to 11% and went to bed. That is with my normal usage and adding some youtube video just to get it down more before going to bed. Watch out for the wifi dropping where your at. That will kill it faster than normal.
