According to the tipster who leaked the images the there might*be a 4.8-inch and 6-inch iPhone on the way with with the larger phone offering a resolution of 1779 x 640.

These are thought to be prototypes for the iphone 6 not 5s

The smaller one, at least, certainly can't be a prototype for anything new, it still has the old 30pin dock connector.

Apple has always had multiple size prototypes out there. In 2005-2007, the iPhone was prototyped on an 8" screen. They are testing out every possible size from 3" to 13" for iPhones and iPads. Very few of these sizes will actually ever make it out of Apple's labs.

I believe the Steve Jobs booked touched on it very lightly, when talking about Johnny Ive and the prototypes they created.

They aren't, because Apple realized how, in the end a larger iPhone would be useless. And also that is a prototype for the 4/S

Anyone making a prototype of a 6" phone on any OS, is jumping the gun and wasting money. There has been no desire for a phone larger than the Note 2-3. On the contrary, most people think that is way too big for a phone and even contemplating a phone that size today, means you are not concentrating on the present market.

Here's why I don't think we will see that this year.. Remember last year manufacturers for phone cases had leaked images of 5 cases well before the keynote. I think if there was going to be a bigger iPhone then it would be the same scenario this year. Guess we will find out tomorrow.

Can already buy spigen cases and screen protectors for 5s and 5c, just shows 5s is same dimension as 5

I was surprised that Samsung was able to keep the faux leather back of the Note 3 a secret. We have had so many leaks on the recent iterations of the iphone that the only thing left to do is to make it official.

I've heard it mentioned a few times now that Samsung has been keeping their flagship devices more hush, hush right up until the big announcement than they used to.
