Why won't my iPhone 5c connect to my Macbook Pro?

My Iphone 5c will not connect to my macbook pro

So here's the deal:

My Iphone 5c does not connect via USB to my macbook pro.
It charges perfectly fine in the wall socket, but it doesn't show up or charge in my macbook.

To get some of the basics out of the way:

- The port in the iphone 5c has just been replaced
- The cable works fine, different cables don't make a difference
- My macbook can connect to other iphones so it's not my usb ports (I also already tried reinstalling the usb-drivers)
- I updated to the latest sofware on both my macbook and iphone

Based on these i conclude it HAS to be a problem with my iPhone.

Any ideas?
