How can I turn off find my iPhone?

can't turn off find my iphone

I accidentally signed to icloud with a non-existing e-mail and now I can't turn off find my iphone.
I gave my iphone 5c to my daughter in law as a present....and well she has a gmail account and I used it to make new apple ID for her, but when signing into icloud i typed ail.com com instead od gmail.com and now we are stuck....

Just sign out or sign into that old iCloud on a computer and remove that device from iCloud
