Why won't my iPhone 5c turn on?

I have an iphone 5c that wont turn on

my friend has an iphone 5c that the screen went black, the only activity I can get out of it is it bongs every little bit when it is plugged in, I can change the screen myself if thats what it is but I dont know for sure,,,,
I plugged it in to ittunes and by holding the buttons down with the right sequence I got it into dfu mode and then back out but not a thing showed up on the screen the whole time, not even the logo,,, that is what makes me think it is a hardware problem but how can I know for sure? I don't want to spend the money on it just to have it be something else!

You can't really know for sure if its the screen or something else... If the friend has AppleCare+ that's still active on the device - use it... or if the friend has carrier insurance - time to file a claim...

Go to iCenter, please... They will fix your screen issue,,,
