My sons i-phone 5C stopped working we think due to steam damaged. I sor a company on line who claimed to repair up to 95% of water damaged phones. I sent the phone off to them and they took my money, later emailed me saying it could not be repaired. I later discovered that they had sent it back with two screws missing and no heat shields inside the phone. The company have come back to say once taken off they can not be put back on. I have no idea if this is true. Please could someone let me know if this is the case, as now having issues selling it for spare parts to try and get some of my money back.

I am honestly not sure however when googling the heat shield I found reputable place that sells it for $1.99- and considering your old one is probably badly damaged its not that big of a loss. Sorry and good luck
