Apple rumored to be readying an 8GB iPhone 5c for launch... tomorrow? [updated] | iMore

Personally, I would never go less than a 32GB... but for seriously budget constrained buyers... if the price it right, it will sell.

No. An 8 GB iPhone 5 or any other iPhone, in my opinion, is not a viable option. 16 GB model should be the minimum. Still, I have no interest whatsoever in the iPhone 5C.

only if the price is right..it is rumoured that it is a modest 60euros less but even then it is not a viable option as for an 8gb iPhone

The question is...We have heard that Apple has some 3 million iPhone inventory biting the dust, sure they are not gonna manufacture more iPhones IMHO,so why disabling the onboard 16/32 gb memories of 5c?? Can't they care to sell their product at 16gb yet profitable?yes they can? but will they? no,BUT WHY? rip off? xD (Sorry for that bashing)

iPhone 5c 8gb is worth for basic users who want iPhone but are not heavy users,,assuming they price it correctly!which I doubt they will...

I don't want any part of an 8gb device. This is only my second 16gb iPhone and I can't imagine having less space than this

This would be perfect someone like my mom. A person who wants a real ingle phone and is not going to download any apps.

Haven't had any interest in the 5c, and would be tough having anything lower than a 32g. But do know of some that use 8g with no issues. I could see the 5c 8g selling, esp. If it's priced at a lower price.

Nah, I wouldn't be getting another iPhone at this point.

My initial hope was that it would be cheap enough for emerging markets, but it's not, so what's the point?

It's for people like my parents. I haven't convinced them to get a smartphone yet, but they do have an iPad Air for email access while traveling and I'm pretty sure they haven't downloaded any apps since I set it up for them and installed the kindle app.

I agree- that is pretty much the only market I would think- Kids want apps so it wouldn't make much sense for it to be entry level device

I could get away with getting it for my grandma. She doesn't come close to the 16 gb on her 4s. My kid brother on the other hand, he needs more than 16 gb but that won't be happening any time soon. So I guess... 8 gb doesn't really matter to me.

What's that like 4-5 gigs of actual useable space? No. Not ever.

I think Apple has understood that there are a lot of users who use the iPhone for a phone and not a data center so there is an element in the market that only needs 8 gig. (or less) My previous iPhone was an iPhone 4 with 8 gig and I never did come close to filling it up. But then I am not an iPhone user to that extent. I basically use it for a phone and once in awhile to some music but neither to the extent that I would ever need more than 8 gig. I have an iPhone 5C now with 16 gig and I know most of it will never get used but I enjoy the speed that it has, etc.

I still have an 8gb 4 laying around somewhere. I loved the phone but hated having to constantly worry about space. When I upgraded I bought the 32gb and don't have to worry at all anymore

5c prices plummeting like a stone here in Canada (under contract) - a 32GB well under $200 (sometimes $100) and an 8GB anything smartphone - especially one with no expandable memory - not even worth free at this stage, unless (in the case of iPhones) you're giving it to your great-grandparents as an emergency phone / FaceTime device. Tack a couple of apps and their updates on the thing and you've maxed out. Its a scam to squeeze more profit out of the consumer - in Apple's case, on a dated phone with an even more dated OS.
