How do I empty my recently deleted items on my iPhone 5?

how do i empty my "recently deleted" items on my i phone 5

I want to clear memory but even when I delete pictures it says it's full. I think it needs to be done like emptying the trash/deleted items in email, but I don't know where

what says its full ?
iphone memory or icloud memory ?
it is two different things

you can empty trash folder for emails by going to the mail app and going into the trash folder and deleting all. ( typically email does not cause the its full message)
