Why is my iPhone 5 continuously searching for signal?

i phone 5 continuously searching for signal

Phone went for swim, i opened, removed battery and sim, dried with silica gel and reassembled. Everything else works but it will not pick up phone or wi fi signal. Have i disturbed something?

Welcome to iMore! Even the slightest bit of moisture inside of the iPhone casing can disturb things. You can always give it a couple of days to see if it eventually fixes itself but, if I'm being honest, something is probably fried. If you've been contemplating an upgrade now is a good time.
