Why does my auto correction keep turning off? Am I hitting a button? I have an iPhone 5

When typing a message, suddenly I no longer have auto correction. Why? ALSO, when the blue bubble shows for an incorrect spelling, can I hit it to make the correct word appear in the message?

Don't know why it won't stay on... To use the word offered in the bubble, hit the space bar.
