Why isn't my iPhone 5 updating emails?

my iphone 5 not updating email

it's 5:49 am...my iphone 5 last updated my email @ 1:20am.
I've turned the phone off and on several times...not working.
I have a good wireless connection.

If you've reset your device and you send yourself a test email and it doesn't come through, delete the account and add it again.

If it's fetch, you may have it set where you only get mail if you open the mail app. Check Settings >Mail,Contacts and Calendars > Fetch New Data>scroll down to set fetch as desired. I set mine on hourly. If it's on "Manually", then mail won't come through unless you open the mail app.

Had the same issue. Deleted the account and restarted, then added new account. It works now

That is reason why I use MS Exchange. Its just works. Just setup and forget about it.
