Sudden death?

My iPhone 5 suddenly appears to have died today. One minute it was working. An hour later nothing. I thought maybe that the battery had drained, so I waited until I got home and plugged it in. It has been plugged in for half an hour and I still cannot get it to boot up or show any signs of life. I've never dropped it nor has it never gotten wet. Any ideas of what to do?

Simultaneously press and hold the power and home button for a few seconds. Hopefully, you'll see the Apple logo. If so, release the buttons.

If nothing happens take it to the apple store

I was finally able to revive my iPhone, I did the long press of the home and power buttons, but I guess not for long enough. After pressing them for about 30 secs. my iPhone rebooted. Thanks for the help.
