I was a bit surprised to find my phone on 6.1.2 instead of 6.1.3 ... No complaints though I'll fire up evasi0n when I get home

Re: T-Mobile iPhone 5 iOS version

Most likely the phone was assembled when 6.1.2 was all there was to install... when they start showing up with 6.1.3 you'll know it was assembled after the 6.1.3 release.

Not all phones sold or replaced under warranty will come shipped with the latest firmware...my wife's iPad Mini she recently bought was not up to date with the most current firmware (and thankfully, like mentioned before, because we were able to jailbreak it with no problems). She got it directly from Apple too...

This is a good thing.

6.1.3 is not jailbreakable. It is good those who wanted a 6.1.2 T-Mobile version have that opportunity while supplies last.

I picked 3 iPhone 5s from tmobile today and to my disdain all of them came with 6.1.3. In a sense it seems like a good thing, maybe the device was manufactured at a later time than one with a much older version. But I wanted the jailbreak! Arrgghhhh

It takes a while for the latest firmware to reach iPhones you'll buy out of the box.

The subject is a bit misleading though. You're more than able to get the newest iOS on T-Mobile if you choose to do so.

I got mines straight from the Apple store & it came with 6.1.2 as well. I just couldn't resist not jailbreaking it. My old factory unlocked iPhone 5 I didn't jailbreak & updated to 6.1.3 so I was screwed. This was like a second chance hahaha & I took advantage of it.

Did u pay it upfront? Or did you do the monthly fee?

Re: T-Mobile iPhone 5 iOS version

Unfortunately the 2 iPhone 5s that I ordered came with 6.1.3. Guess its time to wait for iOS 7 and a jailbreak for that.

Re: T-Mobile iPhone 5 iOS version

Picked up the iPhone 5 from T-Mobile on Saturday and it had 6.1.3 on it, but it also had a Carrier update that it went thru when I got it set up home later that day. I called T-Mobile and they explained it had to do with Visual Voice Mail and the 4G and LTE notifications in the notification bar at the top of the home screen... along with some other bug fixes and updates.

Had my iPhone 5 from T-Mobile for about a week, came with 6.1.3 and then upgraded to 6.1.4. I figured I might as well accept 6.1.4 because you can't jailbreak 6.1.3. The 6.1.4 update was for improving the ext speaker, it worked.
