Looking at that picture it sure doesn't look like a normal 5. It looks altered or treated with something. What's really going on here? And like others have stated.....aluminum does not rust. Iron rusts. Period. Aluminum will corrode, but it would take heavy exposure to moisture along with chemicals....such as alkali. It's not easy to corrode aluminum. That's why it's such a useful metal in so many applications.
