Accessing MAPS

I have had ny iPhone 5 for three days and am impressed, it lives up to Apple's reputation for innovation and technical excellence.

I have one problem, I want to explore MAPS, despite the critical reports, and I can't find how to access it. I have set up the app in SETTINGS, but how do you actually access the program? I can't find an app on the home screen

You really don't see an app? It was on main screen. Try swiping to the right until you get to the search bar and search for maps. This looks for apps and anything on your phone with the word maps in it.
