No LTE / Battery Life

I've been perfectly happy w/ my battery life so far but I've been curious about something. We don't have LTE coverage in this area but I have LTE turned on. Would it help battery life to turn it off or does it not make much of a difference?

If you have no coverage I would turn the LTE off. With it on the device will still seek out and look for LTE service and with it off if should only help the battery life.
