If you guys are trying to connect to a 5Ghz band, and have a 2.4Ghz band available, switch them and you should go back to your normal faster speeds...it's unfortunate but it is what it is.
I had troubles on my 2.4ghz network but after switching it to 5ghz, it's flying and I'm having no issues. I'm using Time Capsule.
Do you have anything else using that band? I was having no problems until one of my other components connected, then it went wonky...i have no tried to connect to the 5Ghz band again since then because the 2.4 is working fine and isn't much different as far as speeds go.
I think I might have to do with my cordless phones being on 2.4ghz.
It's possible...i think Apple needs to do a little reworking on the WiFi settings on the iPhone 5 though for the next update (my work 4S always used 2.4Ghz anyways so it wasn't effected).
While I can't speak of how previous iPhone have worked in my house, my MacBook Pro and iPad (3rd Gen) have no problems on the 2.4ghz band.
I had the same problem. I went to the Apple store which has an extremely strong wifi source, and my phone couldn't find it! To make a long story short, I was given a new phone, and now all is well.I received my iphone yesterday. Unless the phone is 2 feet away from the cable modem, it doesn't maintain a lock/connected to the network. Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem?
