mine is amazing! switched from HTC One, battery was dead in 5-6 hours. iPhone 5 lasts all day, and even if left on overnight without charging! and I'm a heavy user of data...

Surprisingly mine gives me normally 24+ hours without needing to be charged. I'm quite a heavy user which is great considering with my iPhone 4 I struggled to get past lunch time without heading for the red.

I'm having terrible battery life. I unplugged my phone from the charger at 8:30am this morning, it's now 2:47pm and I have exactly 50% left.
Usage: 2hrs 57mins, Standby: 5hrs 49mins

To be fair, I've been setting up my iPhones (3G, 3GS, 4 then 5) by Restoring from Backup so there's probably some old crap being passed along. If I go ahead and Setup As New, is it possible to bring the Text messages over? That's the main reason I'm restoring from backups every time is that I do not want to lose my text messages. Everything else is in the cloud or my Mac and can be restored.

Thanks!

all my iPhone battery life is really good, including the iPhone 5. I think compared to the 4, it's a bit less amazing, prolly due to LTE, but it's still better than any Droid phones I've used.

Battery life is pathetic. Anything that requires cellular data burns battery at 1 percent every 2 minutes. Really disappointed in my first iPhone.

This is my first iPhone. Just switched from a Gnex. At first I was disappointed with battery life, but after a few tweaks I'm at 27% with over 7h of usage. I don't have LTE though, and I mainly use wifi (which I leave always on). The tweaks I made were pretty common sense:

- Turned off location services for anything I don't actually use
- Turned off the synching of pictures between iDevices (I have an iPad)
- Turned off the use of GPS for system services that aren't really relevant and also the tracking for advertisement purposes
- Airplane mode at overnight when not charging.

That's the magic of LTE

I get the exact same results if I turn off LTE and use 3G instead.

You're on wifi though, right? I haven't seen any complaints of battery life over wifi. What results are you getting on cellular data with wifi off?

The iPhone 5 is my first iPhone but I have had the iPad 2 and now the new iPad. I'm on my phone all day for work and pleasure and it will never last a day. It was fully charged at 4pm GMT and now at 21.50pm it's down to 12%. Thought it would be better than this but still love it!!!
