Getting ready for my first iPhone

I'd love to hear suggestions from veteran iPhone users on how I should prepare my contacts, data, photos, music, ringtones, etc. to be ready the day my phone arrives to be up and running. For example did you clean up your contacts in gmail, fix mp3 metadata for non iTunes purchases? What are good steps you've taken and what do you wish you had done for a smoother transition. I'm currently on a google nexus s4g and I copied all of my phone files to my hard drive. Most off of my files have already been backed up with google drive and Dropbox but as an added precaution I wanted to put everything in one folder on my laptop. Thanks for the tips everyone! (I've read all of the transitioning to iOS threads but thought people might have one or two wish I had done this or that thoughts in wake of iPhone 5 and iOS 6 difference)

Basically I'd love an update to Rene's article Switching from Android to iPhone 4? Here's what you need to know | iMore.com to account for the newer iPhone 5 / iOS 6. For one thing I'm happy that I won't be missing Google's turn by turn navigation but I've heard the new maps doesn't do public transit directions yet so there still room for improvement already.
