what is the actual battery capacity? i'm using a nexus and at 2100mah, that lasts me 6 hours at most (which is supposed to last 8-10 hours) if i leave on lte in and out of class rooms and such with my "med/heavy" use. will iphone 5 give me those full 8 hours or will that get cut down to 4 with my usage?

battery life is probably the most important thing to me because no matter how good a phone is, if it dies on me in the middle of the day, it's useless. one thing good about my current one is that i can switch batteries when it dies so that can take me through a whole day without worrying too much.

    thanks.

LTE browsing on the web will last 8 hours if that's what your asking.
As for apps using LTE that's on a completely whole new level. It will depend on how much power the app itself needs then + LTE browsing
In other words. you are going to need an external battery

so it won't last me the whole 8 hours on my use? i'm just trying to figure out what the iphone 5 battery is like in terms of something i know. i know 2100mah lasts me 4-6 hours. that's mostly using apps that require internet connection like games and such, as you pointed out. so you're saying that it won't last me longer than my current battery huh?

They claim "8 hours" but battery never lasts as they claim.

Actually Apple is fairly good about battery life claims.

I was just saying the claims usually never hold up. Apple or not. Plus it all depends on a variety of things to how long the battery will last( signal strength, etc)

Instead of having it on LTE, you could always switch to 3G if you're that concerned about battery life.

Apple has always been pretty on point with their battery claims, in fact, under-estimating the iPhone 4's initial battery life (where many users were finding their battery life to be higher than the listed numbers).
