Can my building mailroom sign for my iPhone?

I live in an apartment. There is no access to the residential areas for delivery drivers. My packages are signed by the building mailroom. Is the iPhone a special case where I personally have to sign, or will the building signature be sufficient?

It is sent via UPS most of the time...so if your mailroom accepts UPS packages (especially in bulk) then it should be able to be delivered as such (if i remember correctly, there is actually a place on the pre-order where you make this selection for delivery, but I've never had to do it personally so I'm just going on what my buddy had to do last year when his was delivered to our precinct headquarters).
