Last year, with the iPhone 4s, it seems like there was a several week delay between when the carrier version of the iPhone was available and the unlocked version could be purchased.
I know all iPhone 5 talk is purely speculation at this point, but I'm curious if people think that it will be the same this year. My company pays my phone bill, so I can't go the upgrade route. The only way I can get the new version at release is if I buy it outright.
Traditionally, I have always preordered the phone the day of release and had it delivered to my door. I'm sure I could walk into AT&T and get them to sell me one off-contract, but that means dealing with the lines and craziness.
